Baroque Style for Interior Design
Baroque style was an artistic style then prevailed in Europe and other continents, generated initially by Italy in a particular direction of visual arts at the suggestion explicitly expressed by the Roman Catholic Church. Today, Baroque and modern architecture are adopted for maximum visual impact.
Baroque is, first, opulence and grandeur and, for connoisseurs, spectacle and drama. It is associated with ornaments carefully developed, presenting a special attention to detail approach. This style, which has its roots deeply embedded in history, returned abruptly to the attention of architects and interior designers who have experienced owner’s desire for spectacle. 'Barroco,' the Portuguese word which refers to the pearl of irregular shape, is synonymous in modern architecture, with the staging of a theatrical play at an architectural level.
The most spectacular aspect of Baroque style is the major concern of designers is to constantly reinvent the style of the eighteenth century, giving it new connotations that are justified by the freedom of creation and new market requirements. On the other hand, straight lines, square or round shapes are replaced by the oval, elliptical or curved lines, which sweetens the environment. Practically, the interior style is characterized by furniture rounded legs and their mimics which often are wild animal paws.
The Baroque era was characterized by old, rare and precious materials, for example, ivory but more recently, the trend is more ecological and a modern home should use the reinvented materials, with one condition: to keep in the forefront the opulent ornaments, precious textiles and thorough details.
Paintings and Baroque mirrors have impressive frames, carefully carved and ornate chandeliers. The rooms are sumptuous. In terms of color palette, white and black colors are refreshed by the aggressive and strong bright red, fuchsia, purple and metallic colors. In addition, in the Baroque style are found generously abstract prints, stripes and flowers.
